Brief

Begins with the discovery of a Historical place "the Blu hill" classified into UNESCO cultural heritage then drive on to the observation of the famous Lemurs with other endemic animals of Madagascar like Chameleons (the bigest and the tiniest in the whole world), Gekkoes (the Uroplatus), Frogs, Amphibians, Butterflies ... The we end the tour to the lengendary spot of the Giant Baobabs and the World Heritage of UNESCO the famous "Tsingy of Bemaraha", unique geological formation nicknamed as a "forest of sharp rocks".

DAY 1°: ARRIVAL IN ANTANANARIVO
Arrival at the international airport of Ivato; after the check in process, welcome by an English speaking guide and transfer to the hotel; check in and accommodation at Tana Hotel (3*), overnight in hotel.

 

DAY 2°: ANTANANARIVO > AMBOHIMANGA HILL > ANDASIBE RESERVE
After the breakfast in hotel; early departure to visit the sacred hill of Ambohimanga, the so called “the Blue Hill”, located at 27 km from Antananarivo, one of the 12 sacred hills of Imerina, the Palace was the former residence of the monarchs of Madagascar from XVII° century; lunch in a restaurant; in the afternoon, drive on eastward to Andasibe through the nice road that crosses the eastern plateau, among pines and eucalyptus woods, rice fields and the typical villages of the native Merina and Bezanozano people; arrival at the natural reserve of Andasibe by the end of the afternoon; check in and accommodation at Grace Lodge (3*); dinner and overnight in hotel.

 

DAY 3°: ANDASIBE RESERVE

Breakfast in hotel; whole morning dedicated to the visit of the National reserve of Analamazaotra (Andasibe) where you will discover many species dwelling in the forest such as the biggest lemurs of Madagascar, the “Indri Indri” which are cognizable by their lamenting cry that spreads all over the whole forest, hearable at about some kilometers around; this reserve is unique by its endemic fauna and flora; it contains a wide variety of orchids, canopy, and endemic animals and many birds; lunch in a restaurant; in the afternoon, visit of the private park of vakona where animals are bred in semi-captivity,  including  dozens  of  crocodiles,  snakes,  ibises,  herons,  chameleons,  fosa  (Cryptoprocta ferox) and of course lemurs; by the end of the day, possibility to have a night walk along the edge of the park to see some nocturnal animals (it is however forbidden to get unto the park at night time); back in hotel, dinner and overnight in hotel.

 

DAY 4°: ANDASIBE RESERVE > ANTANANARIVO > ANTSIRABE

Breakfast in the hotel; early departure back to the Capital, on the way, visit of the Exotic Park at Marozevo, a typical farm of animals where you can see chameleons, geckos, reptiles, crocodiles and beautiful colourful butterflies; drive on till Antananarivo and lunch; in the afternoon, continuation to Antsirabe for another 3 hour's drive; if time allowing visit of the town and a couple of traditional workshops; accommodation at Royal Palace Hotel (3*); dinner and overnight in hotel.

 

DAY 5°: ANTSIRABE > MIANDRIVAZO > MORONDAVA

Breakfast in hotel; departure westward to Miandrivazo through a landscape predominated by rice fields, and plains full of "Lavaka" a unique phenomon caused by erosion and has formed wonderful scenery; arrival at Miandrivazo at lunch time; one of the hottest region in Madagascar; in the afternoon, drive on to Morondava with arrival by the end of the afternoon; accommodation at Sun Beach Hotel (2*); in the evening, dinner and overnight in hotel.

 

DAY 6°: MORONDAVA > BEKOPAKA

After breakfast in hotel, departure by 4x4 vehicle for a whole day of  trip, along the off-road track that will lead to the village of Bekopaka through savannah, forests dominated by various species of baobabs; passage on rivers by barge; lunch in a little local restaurant along the road; continuation of the itinerary and arrival in the evening; check in and accommodation at Le Grand Hotel du Tsingy (3*); dinner and overnight in the hotel.

 

DAY 7°: BEKOPAKA, excursion into the Tsingy of Bemaraha

Breakfast in hotel; whole day dedicated to the visit of the fantastic Tsingy of Bemaraha; trekking along the savannah to reach the base of the cliff, ancient coral reef carved by weathering, up to 60 meters above the ground, hundreds of millions of years ago; this site was recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage; picnic lunch during the excursion; at the end, return to the hotel; dinner and overnight at the same hotel.

 

DAY 8°: BEKOPAKA > MORONDAVA

After the breakfast, drive back to Morondava, through the beautiful natural scenery of the west, tropical forests and savannah of baobabs, villages and typical funerary structures of the Sakalava ethnic group; lunch in a restaurant along the road; passing by one of the most famous touristic spot in Madagascar, impressive and evocative recurring image of this country “the avenue of Baobabs”, during which, you can admire a beautiful sunset, contemplating the fantastic red-ochre colour of the baobabs reflect; arrival by the end of the day; accommodation at Sun Beach Hotel (2*), dinner and overnight in hotel.

 

DAY 9°: MORONDAVA > ANTANANARIVO

Breakfast in hotel; transfer to the airport and fly back to Antananarivo; upon arrival, welcome and transfer to the city; lunch in a restaurant; continuation for a city tour of Antananarivo, wandering along the lower part of the capital, the most frequented quarters (according to the time, visit of handicraft market, Independence Avenue, Mahamasina municipal stadium, etc...); at the end, check in and accommodation at Le Louvre Hotel & Spa (3*);  dinner during which a folkorical show canbe organised (extra), dance and traditional music by a local group; overnight in the hotel.
