A well-varied tour showing you some of the most beautiful places in Latvia and still unknown to the rest of the other tourists. Hurry up before this hidden pearl is discovered by hordes of visitors!

Get ready to explore the Kurzeme coast line, one of the Baltics most interesting regions. On the drive from Riga to Liepaja you will enjoy the breath-taking views of rural Latvia with colorful fields, picturesque little villages and forest. This is the perfect way to observe Kurzeme's country and already get in the mood for the many adventures which are awaiting.

Once in Liepaja, you will visit the northern fortresses, a tunnel of remnants of the old military defence line which was built to defend the coastline from any attacks. The sight of the half sunk bunkers along this beautiful wild coast line with its white, soft sandy beaches is truly something special. In the Old Naval Port there are also many old red-brick structures, many of them still in good condition. Besides a visit to the charming Old Town with many beautiful art-nouveau houses, Liepaja also has a very beautiful pier and promenade. If we're lucky with the weather, a swim at Liepaja's white beach will be most rewarding. During the hot summer days and accompanied by blue skies, the beach of Liepaja is definitely a serious competitor for Southern-Europe's crowded beaches.

After an active and interesting day it's time to go back in time and stay overnight in the Karosta Sovjet prison to sleep in an old cell. Of course the cells are equiped with comfy matresses, but sleeping behind bars in this eerie old communist prison, will definitely be an unforgetable adventures you can tell all your friends about!

We will continue our journey to the cliffs of Jurkalne, one of the most remarkable landmarks Latvia has to offer and where you can take a stroll on this beautiful beach. We then will set course to Irbene, where we will visit an old secret Soviet city with many interesting sites still open for public such as the radio telescope, which was used to spy on the west during the cold war and an old laboratory. On our way back to Riga we will have a stop at Cape Kolka, the furthest point into the sea, where you'll have the chance to try smoked fish, a local delicacy. After Kolka we will drive back to Riga along the Latvian coast line giving you again the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful landscape and study the many interesting villages we'll drive through. This will be an adventure to never forget!

Irbene ghost city and radio telescope

Not far from Ventspils, a city on the western coast of Latvia, is Irbene, an old secret Soviet town and home to the eight largest radio telescope in the world. The telescope was used to spy on the west during the communist era, but is currently used to explore the stars.

Liepāja

Liepaja is a coastal city in the south-east of Latvia and with 90,000 inhabitants it's the country's third largest city. It is known as the city where the wind was born and often called the musical capital of Latvia as many famous Latvian artists have their roots in the city. It is surrounded by water: the Baltic Sea at one side and Lake Liepāja at the other. Liepaja is a popular destination among Latvians because of the beautiful unspoilt beached made of white, soft sand. There are many old art-nouveau buildings as well as old wooden houses in perfect state across the city. Liepaja consists of two areas: the city center and Karosta in the north, which used to be a secret military town during the tsar-regime and the communist perdio, leaving a diversity in architecture in the city with memories from both periods. Besides Karosta, you can also visit the Fortress of Liepaja, which has parts all around the city. But what tourists attracts the most, are the stunning white beaches. During summer the water is safe to swim and the beach doesn't get too crowded. Just outside the city you will find many forests and meadows and there are plenty of interesting small villages to be found

Cape Kolka

Cape Kolka is the the furthest point into the sea and is also the point where the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Riga meet. It is a part of the Livonian Coast, home to the last few hundred Livonians, who still live according to their own tradtions and even have their own language. There are several small Livonian villages among the coastline.

Jurkalne

Jurkalne is a small place between Liepaja and Ventspils and is home to some fantastic cliffs of 20 m high next to the beach. This quiet beach with almost no visitors is located next to the forest and will touch you with its beauty and remoteness.

Tour includes:
