Meet the beauty of the
salt fields and contrast with the colors of northern Argentina. Tour that departs from Salta, on National Route 51, passing the town of Campo Quijano, called the "Portal de los Andes", because there begins the Quebrada del Toro,
where the landscape start showing its contrast: lush vegetation, passing within
a few kilometers tall grasses and cacti. Accompanying in several sections to
the route, the railroad which crosses the famous Train to the Clouds, viaducts,
zigzag, curlers, works of engineering to move the rugged mountains. Arrival in San Antonio de los Cobres,
small town in the Puna Salteña, lunch time. Follow the tour of the famous
National Route 40, passing the highlands to the impressive Salinas Grandes,
unique landscape for its whitish greatness, then follows the zigzag journey
through the Cuesta de Lipan, MERCOSUR strategic route. Arrival to Purmamarca, a
picturesque town of Humahuaca,
where you can enjoy the tranquility of its narrow streets and houses of rich
architecture. Return to Salta.
