Tour Detail

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be met by a tour representative for the transfer to your city hotel. Relax and enjoy a full tour briefing in the evening, including all permit arrangements.

 
Day 2: Flight to Lukla - Trek to Phakding Altitude: 2,610 Meters/ 8,560 Feet. Duration: 3 Hours

Following an early morning mountain flight to Lukla, offering spectacular views of the towering peaks of Gauri Shankar (7,135 meters/23,902 feet), Melungtse (7,181 meters/24,056 feet), and Numbur (6,959 meters/23,313 feet), transfer to the gateway to the Everest Base Camp at Gokyo Lakes in the land of the sherpas. Your 1st trek heads north through the village of Lukla, descending to Ghat along the east bank of the Dudh Kosi (Milk River). End with a gentle climb and a meandering walk along the level paths to Phakding.

 
Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar Altitude: 3,440 Meters/11,283 Feet. Duration: 6 Hours

Continue along the banks of Dudh Kosi as the trail climbs through forests of rhododendron and giant pines en route to Jorsale. Shortly after completing the check post formalities, cross the Dudh Kosi via a large suspension bridge, and start a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar. Known as the “Sherpa Capital,” Namche Bazaar is situated in a crescent-shaped natural amphitheatre that towers above the 2 great valleys of Dudh Kosi and Bhote Kosi. Enjoy stunning views of the mountains across the valley.

 
Day 4: Acclimatization Day

Today is an acclimatization day to allow you to adjust to the high altitude. Explore the market to experience local life up close, walk to the Everest viewpoint, or simply relax and rest your legs for your trek to come. Time is available to take an excursion to the village of Thamo, or to Syangboche.

 
Day 5: Trek to Phortse Altitude: 3,810 Meters/12,496 Feet. Duration: 5 Hours

Depart the village to trek the mountain trail to Sanasa, hiking a series of ascents and descents that offer stunning views of Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse. To reach Dudh Kosi, you will climb the less busy trail to Mongdada, followed by a steep descent through a rhododendron forest towards a small bridge. Cross the river and continue along the trail through the forest ascent to Phortse, one of the small villages framing the stunning Khumbu Valley.

 
Day 6: Trek to Dingboche Altitude: 4,410 Meters/14,465 Feet. Duration: 6 Hours

Today starts with a steep descent through meadows and pine forest towards a small bridge over the Imja Khola river. Then, it’s a steady climb to Dingboche with spectacular views of Ama Dablam. En route, pass through Pangboche, home of the most ancient monastery of the region, as well as the Gompa, site of the famous Yeti scalp.

 
Day 7: Acclimatization Day

During your 2nd acclimatization day you can explore the village and surrounding area, or simply relax and watch the world go by. An optional guided excursion to the Imaj Khola valley includes a walk to Nagarjun Ri.


Day 8: Trek to Labuche Altitude: 4,910 Meters/16,104 Feet. Duration: 5 Hours

Back on the trail, head up the wide valley beneath the impressive peaks of Cholatse (6,335 meters/21,222 feet) and Taboche (6,367 meters/21,329 fet), high above the tree line en route to Dughla. As you approach the foot of the Khumbu Glacier the climb becomes steeper. Take the zigzag path up through the boulders of the moraine to reach Labuche.

 
Day 9: Trek to Everest Base Camp - Trek to Gorakshep Altitude: 5,140 Meters/16,859 Feet. Duration: 8 Hours

An early start welcomes a challenging day to accomplish the dream of reaching the Everest Base Camp (5,364 meters/17,969 feet). The route begins with a gentle ascent along the side of the Khumbu Glacier, before becoming steep, rocky, and awkward for a short while. The reward for your efforts is the breathtaking view of the sugar loaf dome of Pomo Ri (7,165 meters/24,003 feet) and the towering peaks of Nuptse (7,861 meters/26,334 feet) rising in a sheer spire. Behind it is the elusive sight of Everest (8,848 meters/29,641 feet). Descend to Gorakshep (5,140 meters/17,219 feet) for lunch and a rest before taking the trail to Everest Base Camp.

 
Day 10: Ascent to Kala Pathar - Trek to Pheriche Altitude: 4,240 Meters/13,907 Feet. Duration: 7 Hours

In terms of incredible scenery, today is the highlight! It is another early morning start to see dawn break across Everest and the surrounding peaks. An intricate ascent threads its way through crevasses and over moraine ridges. At Kala Pathar’s summit (5,554 meters/18,606 feet) there is an unforgettable panorama of Ama Dablam, Makalu, Nuptse, Lhotse, and the impressive black pyramid of Everest. When it is time to leave, retrace your steps to Gorakshep and trek down to Pheriche.

 
Day 11: Trek to Khumjung Altitude: 3,780 Meters/12,398 Feet. Duration: 4 Hours

Today’s trail is mainly downhill as you travel back to Pangboche, followed by a gradual ascent through a forest to Tyangboche. Visit the legendary monastery of Tyangboche, the largest in Khumbu, and go to the museum. Continue uphill towards the large Khumjung Valley at the foot of the sacred Khumbi Yul Lha, before a rest at Khumjung.

 
Day 12: Trek to Phakding Altitude: 2,610 Meters/8,560 Feet. Duration: 4 Hours

Continue your descent through Namche Bazaar, passing under the imposing Kongde ridge (6,186 meters/20,723 feet). Continue along the banks of Dudh Koshi to Phakding.

 
Day 13: Trek to Lukla Altitude: 2,840 Meters/9,315 Feet. Duration: 3 Hours

As your monumental trek comes to a close, retrace your steps to Lukla, hiking along the east bank of the Dudh Kosi. Then, it’s time to relax and reflect on the amazing days since your arrival in Lukla, thanks to the renowned hospitality of the Sherpas, and the extraordinary work of Mother Nature!

 
Day 14: Flight to Kathmandu

Enjoy panoramic mountain views on the 45-minute flight back to Kathmandu, with your precise departure time subject to the weather conditions. Enjoy some free time to explore Kathmandu and its shops, or simply chill out.

 
Day 15: Departure

Depart Nepal on the flight to your onward destination, catching some last minute mountain views as you leave.
