Private sightseeing tour Introduction: Ivan Mestrovic, often called Croatian Rodin, is the most famous Croatian artist. He was one of the greatest 20th century European sculptors, and probably the greatest sculptor on the religious matter since the time of Renaissance. Originally, it was the artist's residence, where he lived in the 1930's. The Mestrovic Gallery was started in 1950s after a substantial donation of art from the artist himself. After that we will explore together the compact, entirely pedestrianised centre of town and 1700 y/o Diocletian's palace. We will walk through the palace fortifications and gates, visit the Jewish ghetto and of course admire one of the main symbols of Split – its main promenade, the seafront – Riva.
