Tour Detail

Day 01: Arrive Paro by Druk Air/Bhutan airlines

A flight to Paro is one of the most breaths taking of all mountain flights. Whether flying along the Himalayan range from Kathmandu or over the foothills, each flight is a mesmerizing feat and offers exciting descent into the Kingdom. On arrival at the airport you will be received by Yarphel Tours representative and transfer to Thimphu (capital city). After lunch at the hotel,visit folk Heritage, which  provides fascinating insight into Bhutanese material culture and way of life. In the evening visit to Trashichhodzong, the beautiful medieval fortress/monastery which houses most of the Government's office and King's Throne room.It is also the summer residence of Je Khenpo, the Chief Abbot. The biggest Thimphu Tsechu(Festival) is held in this Fortress every year during the month of September.

Day 02: Thimphu - Punakha

After breakfast visit to Kuensel Phodrang famously known as the Buddha Point (Tallest Buddha Statue in sitting posture).It is of 169 Ft tall and inside it houses thousand of Buddha starues.It is built for the well being of the country and also for the sentient beings.Then visit to Memorial Chorten (Stupa) built in 1972 by the grand Queen mother for her son the third king of Bhutan,king Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.Lunch at Dochula pass (3,150m). After Lunch Drive towards Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong (Fortress), the 17th century fortress which has played important role in building up of modern Bhutan. Punakha is also the old capital of Bhutan and winter residence of the chief abbot.

Day 03: Punakha - Wangduephodrang - Paro

After breakfast one hour hike to the most visible stupa  Khamsum Namgyal Chorten, located to the north of Punakha on hill side. It is said that there is only three stupas built of this kind in the whole world. When you climb at the top of the stupa, it will give you panorama view of the Punakha Valley.

Then drive towards Lobesa and visit Chimi Lhakhang (temple of Fertility) .The temple is dedicated to Drukpa Kuenley,populary known as the divine mad man.His legend is still popular in the country.People around the world come to get blessing from this temple especially those couples who does not give birth to child.It is believed that the temple was built by his brother in the 15th century.After lunch drive to Paro with a short stop at Dochula pass. Later enroute visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the Kingdom built in 1627 at the junction of east and west of the country.

 Day 04: Paro

 After breakfast visit Ta Dzong (watch tower), the National Museum of the Kingdom. Originally built as Watch Tower since 1967, it is acting as the National Museum of the country and holding fascinating collection of art, artifacts, thangkha paintings and Bhutan's exquisite postage stamps. Then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong,build in 16th century which has a long and fascinating history. After Lunch visit to Drugyel Dzong, the fortress of victory built during the time of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel in order to celebrate the victory over the Tibetan invasion and also from the inside enemies. In the evening visit to farm house where you will get the opportunity to explore Bhutanese way of living and experience hot stone bath with some local wine.

Day 05: Paro

After breakfast day Excursion to Taktshang Monastery literally known as Tiger’s Nest. This is one of Bhutan’s most sacred places, and an important pilgrimage destination. The  walk  takes roughly 3 hours depending on how fast you can walk .The monastery is perched 900 Ms above the valley, taking you through beautiful trails  and past four large prayer wheels turned by a stream. Continuing across an open meadow, you hike up a section of trail to a ridge where prayer flags rustle in the wind next to a massive prayer wheel. On the half way to Taktshang there is  Cafeteria where your tea and snacks will be served.You will get the striking views of the Monastery . Depending on your energy level, you may relax in the pleasant atmosphere of the cafeteria until lunch or continue on for a mile of steep climbing to another dramatic viewpoint. While returning visit Paro town  enroute Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of the Kingdom built in 7th century by the Tibetan Buddhist king Tsongtsen Gampo. Evening leisure time in town.

 Day 06: Paro Depart

After breakfast drive to the airport for flight to onward destination.
