DAY 1: Kiev

Arrival in Kiev. Transfer to the hotel. Free time to explore the city in the afternoon.

DAY 2: Kiev

General panoramic city tour. During this excursion you will be acquainted with an architectural pearl of Kiev – Vladimir’s Cathedral. It contains pieces of art of XIX centuries. The cathedral was painted by prominent artists Vasnetsov, Vrubel, Nesterov. You will observe the Golden Gates, which were built XI century and formed a part of fortification constructions. They were destroyed in the 13th century, during the II World War and reconstructed in the 20th century, National Opera and Ballet Theatre, National University. The tour includes visiting St. Sophia’s Cathedral - one of the biggest preserve-museums in Ukraine, which was built XI century in the times of Yaroslav the Wise. The cathedral was a residence of Kiev metropolitans and played the key role in Orthodox Rus destiny. It is a vivid examples of the Old Rus monumental art. The cathedral interior has been preserving from the time of its foundation. You will have a chance to see monuments to outstanding historical figures: the monument to Prince Volodimir, to Princes Olga, to Prince Yaroslav the Wise, to Bogdan Khmelnitsky and to other prominent people, who made significant contribution to Ukrainian history. You will be able to observe with, Mikhailovsky Gold-domed Cathedral is an distinguished architectural monument and a symbol of Christianity spiritual values in Rus. It was built in XII century and was restored the previous century. After observing Ancient Kiev you will visit modern Kiev – the main street Khreschatik, you will hear history of this central city street, and observe view at Dnipro river and one of the oldest Kiev districts Podil from the sightseeing place near Druzhby Narodiv Arch (Arch of Folks Friendship).

Excursion to Kiev-Pechersk Lavra UNESCO World Heritage site. Kiev-Pechersk Caves Monastery (Lavra), which is situated on the pictorial hills of Dnipro river, is one of the most interesting architectural and historical monuments in Ukraine. This monastery is called Lavra as it looks like a small monastic cit, that is governed by clearly defined laws and procedures of monastic life. The Kiev-Pechersk Lavra was founded in times of Yaroslav The Wise in XI century and is one of the most ancient monastery in Old Rus. This Monastery was the centre of Christianity in the time of Kiev Rus. Now the Lavra possesses a number of active churches and unique caves with the remains of Saints. The pearl of the Monastery is the Dormition Cathedral. Since 1992 the Lavra accommodates administrative buildings of Kiev Metropolia. The Kiev Theological Academy and Seminary, which revived their activity in 1989, also occupy several buildings. Besides of panoramic tour in Kiev Pechersk Preserve you will visit caves with mummies of monks.

DAY 4: Kiev - Odessa

Early check-out and transfer to the railway station with guide’s assistance. 06:07 Departure to Odessa by express train.

12:48 Arrival in Odessa. Meeting with the driver and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation at the hotel. In the afternoon general panoramic city tour. You will drive to Primorsky Boulevard, the city's popular promenade, and begin Your strolling tour for a close inspection of Odessa's most cherished buildings and monuments: monument to Duke de Richelieu, monument to Alexander Pushkin, City Hall, Count Vorontsov Palace as well as magnificent Opera & Ballet House. Potemkin steps - a formal entrance into the city from the direction of the sea. The stairs leading from Prymorsky Boulevard down to the sea were constructed from 1837 through 1841 to the design of the architect F. Bofford. This imposing monument numbers 192 stairs arranged in ten flights and flanked by two-meter thick parapets. The difference in width between the highest (13.4 m) and the lowest (21.6 m) flights produces an optical illusion that enhances the grandeur of the structure. The famous Potemkin Stairs serve as a symbol of the city.

Excursion to Odessa's Catacombs. Rome has its famous catacombs and so does Paris. But the city with the largest network of underground tunnels is undoubtedly Odessa. Odessa's catacombs stretch more than 2500 km (4000 km according to some records) underground, in a real parallel world. Underground works in our region have been performed since the 1830s, when stone was used for the construction of the city. Multi-level labyrinths were created at random and, as a result, these stone quarries are a real lost world, only parts of which has ever been explored. An area in Nerubayskoye village is in the vicinity of the oldest of Odessa catacombs. It was there that the Partisan Resistance detachment was stationed under command of V. A. Molodtsov-Badayev during the first months of German occupation of the city.
