Day 2
This morning you are collected from your accommodation at 7.45 am by Guurrbi Tours for the half-day Rainbow Serpent Rock Art Tour, with Nugal-warra Elder, Willie Gordon. Willie, the traditional story-teller of the Nugal-warra clan, takes you to the Nugal rock art sites, set in stunning countryside high in the hills above Hope Vale. You’ll visit five sites where Willie shares the stories behind the art – stories which can only be told by Elders of the Nugal clan - and explains how the paintings speak of the essence of life and the lores of his people. With his great smile and infectious laugh, Willie gives you an amazing insight into Aboriginal society and spirituality, and has you thinking about your own relationship with the land and how the lores of his people can apply to us all. Water is provided, and cameras are welcome. After returning to Cooktown at 1.15pm, you are free to enjoy the reminder of the afternoon at your leisure. Visit the world-class James Cook Museum or stroll along the shores of the Endeavour River. The main street has a charm and historical atmosphere which still prevails.

Late afternoon we depart Cooktown via the inland road, The Mulligan Highway, traveling through a diverse landscape of cattle stations and the Palmer River Goldfield region, which is the Outback of Far North Queensland. A meal break before your journey of exploring comes to a completion and transferred to your chosen accommodation in Port Douglas or Cairns.

**Please note: we take individual bookings, but we require a minimum of 4 people to operate this tour**
Please wear closed in covered walking shoes for the Rainbow Serpent Rock Art Tour.
