About :
MICKEY MARENTES Born to a mother from Jalostotitlán, Jalisco and a father from Yurécuaro, Michoacán, two municipalities listed on the classified denomination territory, it was only natural that love and passion for tequila would flow through my veins. Working as a chief of operations for an international marketing research firm allowed me to travel the country extensively before settling in Guadalajara. It was there, in the pearl of the Occident, that I could finally engage full time in my passion, which prompts me to say that since then, I have never “worked” another day in my life. I noticed a need for a tour that felt more personal and authentic (and less touristic!); a tour that I would like to go on myself if I were a visitor in this land. It was in 2008-2009 that the Tequila Tour by Mickey Marentes started taking form, attending seminars and classes, and in 2010 that I started test-driving the tour with friends and relatives. June 2010 marks the official beginning of operations. Sin

"Like being on a tour with a friend” Jeep Adventure was AMAZING! It was basically a personal tour with our guide Giancarlo. He made my fiance and I feel like he was a friend of ours showing us around. We learned so much about the tequila making process, how to choose 100% Blue Agave tequila and how to really enjoy tequila. The Jeep ride through the agave fields was so much fun! I love Jeeps and 4-wheeling! It was dusty, bumpy, and such a rush! We stopped at the top and enjoyed a beautiful view from up top of the agave fields. So relaxing. We couldn't have asked for a better tour guide! Thanks Giancarlo for making our experience a memorable one!

"This was the MOST FUN and INFORMATIVE tour!!” When people ask about our recent trip to Guadalajara, I tell them our FAVORITE thing was the Tequila Tour by Mickey Marentes. We had AWESOME guides in Odett and David. They both were so friendly, fun and informative. Our group of 6 was picked up at the hotel by David and Odett. We were joined by others from around the world to learn about the tequila making process and sampling tequila. We went in the field and harvested an agave plant like a jimador, toured factories and learned how to sample tequila. I would DEFINITELY recommend this tour on your next trip to Guadalajara.
